An electrical fault is never convenient. And a new consumer unit needs to be right. We help you move forward, with clear agreements and a price you know in advance.
Replace an old fuse box with a well-organised installation, or make room for electric cooking. We assess what your home needs. ABB-HAF is our standard choice. Prefer a lower-cost consumer unit? We are happy to discuss alternatives.
The evening or night surcharge is already included in the starting price and is not charged again. The starting price is the minimum charge, even if the fault is resolved within an hour. Travel within Zuid-Holland and Utrecht is included. Materials and any parking costs are discussed upfront. Whether a fault can be resolved within an hour depends on its cause.
Evening and night availability is by arrangement. Weekend and public holiday rates are agreed separately. Before we set off, we confirm the total starting price and the rate for any additional time. If the work crosses into another time band, we agree the applicable rate in advance.
Our standard choice is ABB-HAF equipment. Prefer a lower-cost consumer unit? Alternatives are available by arrangement.
Starting prices apply to a standard replacement in the same location with usable existing wiring. We use ABB-HAF equipment as standard; lower-cost alternatives can be discussed. Your quote specifies the materials, protective devices and final configuration. New wiring runs, cooker circuits, remedial work and changes by the grid operator are excluded. Work is scheduled only after assessment and your approval.
Already chosen or bought an EV charger? We can connect it. The starting prices below exclude the charger itself.
Includes 21% VAT, standard installation materials and travel within Zuid-Holland and Utrecht. Based on wall mounting, one standard wall penetration, an easily accessible cable route of up to 5 metres and enough spare space in the existing consumer unit. Limited digging is included: a small hole beside the outside wall to route the cable into the crawl space. You supply the charger; we assess the model and installation beforehand. Cable selection and protection are specified in the quote. Starting prices apply to a charger with built-in DC leakage detection; any additional protection required is charged separately.
Load balancing is available at an extra charge, depending on your charger and installation. The options and costs are specified in your quote beforehand.
Not included: the charger, mounting post or foundation, extensive digging such as cable trenches, paving work, extra or specialist wall drilling, floor drilling, extra cable, data cable, load balancing, subscriptions, consumer unit expansion or replacement, and changes by the grid operator. We provide a tailored price in advance. Extra work is carried out only with your approval.

03 — How we work
Good work starts with a good conversation.
01
Tell us what you need.
Call or send a message. For a new consumer unit, a photo of the outside helps us assess your situation.
02
Agree the details first.
We discuss the work, availability and costs. Any change or extra part? We ask for your approval first.
03
Get on with your day.
We carry out the agreed work, check the result and explain what has been done.
Local service, across two provinces
From Zuid-Holland to Utrecht.
3hs elektra serves homeowners throughout Zuid-Holland and Utrecht. Tell us your town or city and we will arrange the timing with you personally.
Yes. All prices on this website include 21% VAT. The €109 call-out rate includes travel within Zuid-Holland or Utrecht and the first hour of labour. Materials and any parking costs are discussed separately.
How do evening and night surcharges work?
On weekdays, a visit between 17:00 and 23:00 costs €149, and between 23:00 and 08:00 it costs €189, including VAT, travel and the first hour of labour. The €40 or €80 surcharge is already included. Additional time is charged per started 15 minutes: €25 in the evening or €31.25 at night. Materials and any parking costs are extra. We confirm availability personally and agree rates in advance for weekends, public holidays and work that crosses between time bands.
Can every fault be fixed immediately?
That depends on the cause and the parts required. We discuss availability when you call. We do not promise a fixed arrival time, and not every fault can be resolved within the first hour.
What is included with a new consumer unit?
The starting price includes a consumer unit with the stated circuits, standard ABB-HAF equipment, removal, installation in the same location, checks, labels and travel. Prefer a lower-cost unit? We can discuss an alternative. The quote specifies the chosen materials and protective devices. Extra cabling, cooker circuits, remedial work and grid operator charges are not included.
Do I need a three-phase supply?
Not always. We first assess your existing supply and requirements. A three-phase consumer unit does not by itself change your incoming supply. Any supply upgrade is arranged through your grid operator and is not included.
Do you also connect EV chargers?
Yes, we connect home EV chargers and wallboxes. Standard wall mounting starts at €549 for single-phase or €599 for three-phase, including VAT, travel, up to 5 metres of surface-run power cable, one standard wall penetration, a small access hole beside the outside wall into the crawl space, and a standard protected charging circuit. The charger itself is not included. Load balancing is available at an extra charge; we discuss options and costs beforehand. We assess your charger, cable route and consumer unit in advance. Extensive digging such as cable trenches, paving, extra or specialist wall drilling, floor drilling, extra cabling, load balancing and any additional protection or modifications are quoted separately.
How do I request a quote?
Call, email or send a WhatsApp with your town or city and a short description. For a consumer unit, you can include a photo of the closed unit. Do not remove any covers to take the photo.
